Hola mi Familia!!

Oh it sounds like everyone is doing so great. But I am so sorry that you haven’t been feeling to well mom! I hope that you feel a little better this week!! It is horrible to feel sick. That is so funny that you were sick this week because I was too! My stomach didn’t feel good at all and I had a fever but it was only for 24 hours and I went out and worked the next day but I feel fine now! So I hope that your little stomach feels better this week too!!

But Brynnioe thanks so so so so much for writing me it means so much and yes I forgive you but it was so good to hear about your cute little family and I loved your pictures. It seriously made my whole day!! So thank you!! But how is Laren doing in his fire academy? Is he doing well? Is he loving it. I know that he is because he is my brother and he is awesome because I am awesome lol!!! No just Joking!! Well I love you all so much. Thank you for your emails and your love.

Dad thank you for your email!! I do remember that special day. Thank you for sharing that experience with me! It made my day to know that you hold that letter so close to your heart that means so so much more than I think you know!! I love you and thanks for always being the best example to me!! You and mom are the best friend in the world. Thank you for loving me and always helping me to be better!

So this week was great!! We found a cute girl. She is about 30 years old. She is divorced and has a 10 year old son! We found her when we went to go visit another investigator and she was there. We have been teaching her and she is awesome!! She has come to church now 2 times and sat through the Saturday morning session and the Sunday morning session of conference as well! She loved it and was moved by the talk! We taught her the other day about the plan of salvation. The Spirit was so strong in the lesson! We taught her about the 3 degrees of Gloria and she cried! I testified that I know that I was sent to Costa Rica for a reason and one of them was to find her and share this message with her and as I testified of that I felt the Spirit so strong that her and I started crying!! We put a baptismal date with her for the 16th of April! She is awesome and I can see how the gospel is changing her life! She is happier and I can tell and know that she knows that this is true! I love that! When you can see a light come on in her eyes when she hears of our message! This is what I live for when the Spirit touches her heart and testifies that this gospel is true and that this gospel brings happiness!!

Conference was so good!! I loved it!!! I watched in our capilla and in spanish! I can understand mostly everything but it is still not the same in spanish! But it still was so awesome!! I loved president Eyring talk on the Saturday morning session and Eder Bednards well ok to-do!! But seriously I love conference and when I saw President Monson I felt the Spirit testifying that he is the Prophet of God that we have a living Prophet and Apostles here on earth that lead and guide us and helps us to become better children of God!! Seriously what a blessing it is to have two temples in Colorado!! What a blessing for the members in Colorado!! Wow our Heavenly Father truly loves us! But I thought about questions that can help me and my investigators and everyone of my questions were answered! I love that because it wasn’t the words that they spoke it was the Spirit that taught me! I am so thankful to have this gospel in my life. I know with out a shadow of a doubt that this is the True and Living Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today!! That he leads and guides his church through living Prophets!! I am thankful for Thomas S Monson he is so wonderful I know that he speaks with God and gives us direction and counsel that God wants us to know!!

I love you all! Thanks for everything that you are and do for me!! I love you!!

Love Hermana Turnbaugh!

Hola Mi Hermosa Familia!!

Como Estan!?! Yo les amo un monton!!! Ustedes son increibles y feliz cumpleanos mi Hermano otra vez!!! That is so awesome Mom that you made pupusas!!! I love them! They are sooo good!! You are little Latinos now!! LOL!! I am glad that you had such a good Sunday and birthday! I hope that Crystal and her cute little family is feeling better! I hope everyone is doing well! And I hope that Laren is loving fire academy. I know he will do great because he is superman lol!! Oh I love you all so so much!!!

This week was really good! It went by so so so fast! Seriously time is flying bye. I can’t believe that it is going to be April this week! Time does fly when you are having fun!! lol!! Yes! It is fun and I am loving it! Yes there are times of sadness but not sadness for me but for the people that could be so happy but they turn away from it! That is what is hard!

But our companionship is doing really well! I am really enjoying it and I am learning a lot too! This week I have taught so much English! A member is in an English class here in the city but her teacher speaks so fast and she doesn’t understand, so I have been helping her. And then on Thursday she brought some of her classmates as well. They aren’t members but I was able to bear my Testimony to them in English. They asked me questions like, how do you know that there is a God? or why are you serving a mission? And I was able to bear my Testimony in English. But it was so hard because all the time here I bear my testimony in Spanish, so it felt weird, but it was a very neat experience. Because one girl she is about 19 she really thought it was beautiful and she wants us to go to her house and teach her more, so it was special to share with her! Also there is a new family that lives here but they are from Guatemala and they are living here only for a year, but they are a family of 8!!! They are very very evangeliclos but they are such an awesome family. They are Mormons but just not officially! We say they are Mormons secos! But they have asked if I could help their son in English and I have and as I am teaching him English my companions are teaching the parents! We are hoping and praying that they will feel of the Spirit and want to learn more. They came to church once but haven’t returned. But we are going to work really hard with them!!! So English is turning out to be a really good thing!

Also this week we found a really awesome mom and her 10 year old son! She has had a a lot of problems in her life but she is searching for the truth and yesterday she came to church and she cried during the Sacrament. My companion asked her what is wrong? And she said with a smile, I dont know why I am crying! Then we testified that it was the Spirit testifying that this is True! We have a cita with her tomorrow! But experiences like that are so special and that she could feel the Spirit so strongly! Because it wasn’t anything that we said, or what other people said, but it was the Spirit testifying to her that what she was feeling was True! And she also loved that in the church that everyone is able to take the sacrament! We told her yes! because the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is for everyone not just a select few but to all that are willing to follow Christ!

The Sacrament is so special to me. It is a time when I feel so close to my Heavenly Father. A time when I can receive personal revelation from my Heavenly Father and receive repuestas a mi orraciones! It is a time when I can think of my Savior and Redeemer and remember that he Died for me and that he Lives for me!! I hope that everyone, during the Santa cena, can have a truly Spiritual experience and feel of Gods loves and the love of Jesus Christ!

Jose is doing well. He wasn’t able to go to church. He isn’t feeling that well so he wasn’t able to come. He is tired, his poor little body is tired too! But he is so awesome! He always reads the Book of Mormon and he loves it! Especially the words of Mormon. I dont know why but he loves the words of Mormon and when he picks up the Book of Mormon he always says the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Que va! LOL!!! But he is so very special to me!! He just makes me want to cry because I know that he has found the truth and he knows that he has found the truth. He was so sad that he couldn’t go to church but he said that if he feels better he will come this week!! So hopefully he will!!

Melanie and Abril are doing to great!! They are loving church and on Saturday they came to the Young Women’s broadcast! They want to do all the things correctly and receive their young women’s medallion! I know they are both truly converted!!

I love this gospel so so much! I know that it is perfect because Christ is perfect!! I know that He lives and I know that this is His Church!! I am so thankful for the Profeta Joseph Smith that he had the courage to follow God no matter what other people said! I am so thankful that we have a Living Profeta that we are able to listen to this Saturday and Sunday. I am so excited to listen to his counsel!! I love you all! I hope you all know how truly special you all are to me!! Thanks for everything!!

Love always and forever Hermana Turnbaugh

Hola Mi Familia Hermosa!!

How is everyone doing this week!?! I hope everyone is happy and doing so well!!!!

Casey! Happy Happy Birthday on Sunday!!! I hope you will have the best birthday ever!!! I love you so much! You are such an amazing example to me!! Feliz cumpleano Hermano!!

So this week was so good!! We had 2 baptisms!!!!!! With Melanie and Abril they are sisters! Abril said that she wasn’t going to be baptized but we found out that she was just scared to talk to her mom and ask her permission, so we talked to her and gave her a little courage and she asked her mom and so both sisters got baptized. It was a wonderful baptism!! Their parents are not members so we are going to work hard with them and hopefully they to will want to be baptized also! But the sad thing was my companion wasn’t there! So her visa expired and she was really illegal. If the police would have stopped her she would have gone to jail. So President called and said that she had to go back to Nicaragua and then re enter into the country. Then the government could see that she left and then it gives her another 30 days for the office to fix the problem with her visa. But the thing is she had to go by her self to San Jose and then the secretaries in the office they drove her to Nicaragua! So she missed her second baptism. It was sad for her but she is such a good sport! But now her papers are ok! But I am truly so close with her, that when she left I was so sad! I felt I was missing my best friend!!

The trio is working out! I was nervous but it is going well! Our other companion is Hermana Arzu. She is from Honduras but she said her grandparents are from a little island really close to Africa! But she is really nice and we don’t have any problems! So that is a blessing! But I feel that we won’t be a trio for to long only for a little while but who knows, we are just working hard!

Today for P~dAY we went to the beach. It was so beautiful! It is about 45 minutes away by bus. It is called Playa Dominical! We went with our district. It was fun to do something different! But I got a lot of sun!! So I have some pretty cute pictures!!

So I am almost done with Jesus the Christ. I love that book so so much!! I just got done reading the part about when Christ first talks to Mary Magdalene after he was resurrected. And she was so so so sad that her Lord and Master wasn’t in the tomb. And when Christ was behind her and he spoke just a few words she knew it was him without even looking at Him and when she looked at Him for the first time she was so overwhelmed with love that she wanted to embrace him! As I read this part I was overcome with love! Sometimes in our lives we are like Mary. We might not know where is Christ but when we search for him we realize that He is always here with us and when he calls our name we know that it is him just by His gentle promptings to our heart. I felt as if I was Mary reading this part and I could feel and see myself as her! That I could feel the sorrow and the pain of having my beloved Savior not be in the tomb and then I felt Him call to me... I felt him say “Why do thou weepest?” and I could feel the overwhelming love that I felt when I turned around and He was there in front of me with his arms opened for me.

He that once was dead was now living! I can not explain to you all how much I love my Savior. I want one day to run to Him as he calls my name and embrace Him! He has been here with me every part in my mission. He has been here when I felt like I was alone but I know with every fiber of my being that He lives!!! And that He loves us! With a love we don’t hardly even know!! I am so thankful for this time in my life! At times I feel as if like Laren said I am living my little part of Gethsemane and then bearing a little piece of the cross but through these times I feel so close to my Savior and Redeemer!

I hope as April comes and we prepare ourselves for Easter, that we can all remember the great love God has for us that He sent His Son to die for us and more importantly that lives for us!!

I love you all so so so much!!

Love always and forever

Oh Mi Querida Familia!!

How is everyone this week!?! I hope you are all happy and doing so so well!!

So you are all probably dying to know if José, who has 92 years was baptized this Saturday??? and.......................YES!!!!! He was!!! It was so special! It was a true miracle that he did!!

So it was so cute when we went to go get him on Saturday for his baptism he was wearing a cute little white shirt and he was so excited for his baptism! Well, it was the most different baptism I have ever seen! So he can’t walk up right because his back hurts him so he wasn’t able to be baptized from the back but he did from the front. Because that was the only way he would be able to be baptized! And two elders had to help him. So one helped him go under and the other said the blessing! We had to do it 2 times because the first time he didn’t fully go under! But he was such a good sport and after he came up from the water he said, “What else do I have to do?”. It was so cute. Then on Sunday he received the Holy Ghost and he wore a white shirt and tie! So handsome!!! But he can’t come every Sunday but he will every other Sunday so that is good! But he always takes my hand and says will you be right behind me when we go to the cemetery. And when he says that I want to cry! And I just look into his eyes and say yes I promise! He is so special to me!!

So we didn’t have changes!!!! BUT................................................................. we are now in a trio!!!! Can you believe that!!!! So last week President said that we were going to have 2 other girls be living with us. So we thought, oh that is great! But then we got a call Monday and said there was a problem with one of the missionaries and she wasn’t able to come for this change so we were put into a threesome. I am a little nervous just because the Hermana that is now with us she has more time than I have but I am mayor compenera so I am a little nervous that, that might cause problems. But I know that God has a plan and a reason for everything!! And I am not sure if we will stay in a trio for the whole change or if they will send a mini missionary or a Hermana will come in a little later! So I am not sure!! We will see what happens! But we will work hard no matter what!!

I am just so thankful that I am with my hija!! So it doesn’t matter if we have another Hermana! I am with my companion one change mas!! Because I just love her! She is awesome!!

The new Hermana with us, her name is Hermana Arazu and she is from Honduras. She is very nice so I honestly don’t think we will have a problem it just feels weird to have 2 companions and not just one but I will learn and grow right?! But I am sad. Our district lider, he had changes. He was so great to us and helped us out so much but we have a new one and he is from here Costa Rica!!! So hopefully this change will be good!

We have a baptism this Saturday for one of our investigators whose name is Melanie she is 17. Her aunts are members but her parents, no! But she wants to be baptized!! So it will be a special day for her on Saturday!

I love the mission. I am learning so much about me and most importantly about my Savior. Everyday I learn a little bit more about the Atonement and the pure love of Christ! I want with all my heart and soul to be more like my Savior!! I want to love as he loved!! And do the things that he would have me do! I am so thankful for this time in my life!! I know that it is so short so I need to disfrutar every moment of it!!! I love you all! I am so thankful I was born into this family!! I am so thankful for your love and support!!

Thank you for everything!!

I love you always and forever!

Hermana Turnbaugh!

P.sSOh my world that is so so so sad what happened to Japan! How are the missionaries over there? Are they ok!?!

Mi Queridoa Familia!!

Oh my poor Maaaam!!! Oh my word! You sounded like you didn’t have the best weekend ever!?! Oh mom are you feeling better!?! How is your poor little eye!!!! Oh I am so worried. I hope that everything is better and you are feeling better!! We are so blessed to have priesthood holders in our home that can give us blessings when we are sick!! Our family is so truly blessed!!! Oh but mom I hope that you are feeling better and that your little mouth feels better!! I love you and always know that I pray for you always!! But I hope that everyone is happy and healthy!!

Yesterday my companion and I went to San Jose for her one month check up with President. It was very special! President talked to us trainers and he asked “why are you guys trainers”? and in my mind I was like, I don’t know! But he said that he has so much confidence in us and that God knows why we are trainers and he said that when he was preparing for cambios that he saw each and everyone of us and he knew that we needed to be trainers! For me to hear that, my testimony was strengthen, to know that God knows us so personally and at times we might not know why God calls us to do something but it is always blessings in disguise for us!

I am learning so much!! It was very special! We went to the place where President Packer dedicated Costa Rica for the predicando del evangelio de Jesucristo!! It was wonderful to hear that story and stand in the same place where this land was dedicated for what we as missionaries are doing!

It was weird because it seriously felt like just yesterday that I had my one month checkup with my trainer and now I am the trainer! It was very special and I am so glad I had that opportunity to be able to go with my companion. She is awesome!! And I am praying that we won’t have changes because changes are next Wednesday! But I think that we won’t only that 3 more sisters are coming in! But I am praying no!!! So next week I won’t be able to write next week on Monday but Wednesday I will be able too!!!

So we didn’t have a baptism this Saturday! But this Saturday Yes!! We have everything ready and he is ready! Why he didn’t get baptized Saturday is because his family wants to all be there for his baptism and they weren’t able to make it here on Saturday. But this Saturday yes!! So my companion and I are so happy! And hopefully on the 19th of Marzo we will have two more. There are two young girls and their extended family are members but they are not but they want to be baptized. So we put a baptismal date with them for the 19th so we will see! We are still working with the cute little family on how they can receive their papers? But we are going to put all our trust in the Lord and I know that they will be able to receive their papers!!

So we are working really hard and we are going to work even harder!! Because everyone needs to hear about this Gospel and I know that people are just waiting to hear our message!! I am so grateful for this time in my life! I am so truly blessed to be here! I know that I have a grand and divine purpose here in Costa Rica!! I am so thankful that I have this Gospel in my life because I am so truly happy and I know that it is only by and through this Gospel that true happiness comes!! I know that the Savior lives!! I can see his love everyday for me and the people in Costa Rica!! I love Him more than I can say and I want to be like Him more than words can say, because he has changed my life forever!! Through Him I will never be the same! He has been here in times where I thought I can’t go on and He has been here through tears and joys! He knows me and loves me because He died for me! This love that He has for us, everyone needs to be able to feel! They need to feel the Atonement in their lives!! The Atonement fills in any gap that we may have in our lives!! The Atonement is perfect!!

I love you all so much! Thank you for all your love and support. Thanks for having confidence in me and for helping me always with your words of encouragement, advice and love!

Love always and forever!!

Mi Hermosa Familia!!!

How is everyone doing!?! Is little Bella and Ciara feeling any better I so hope so!! I hope that everyone is doing so well and everyone is happy and healthy!!!

Happy Birthday big E! I hope you have the best birthday ever! I Love you so mas! You are getting so big!

I hope you all had a great week and I know that this week will even be better!!! I love you all. Thanks for always keeping me updated!

Oh how is Laren doing in fire academy!?! Does he like it? Is it hard work? I haven’t heard from them for a while. I hope they are loving it in Florida!

Well..... this week wasn’t what I was praying for but I am trying to be positive and I know that everything happens for a reason! So Ronald went to San Jose to get his papers and there is something wrong with his papers and he is not able to get them. The people in migration said he has to go to Nicaragua and take them out that way! But he is scared because Costa Rica and Nicaragua doesn’t have the best relationship and he is scared that if he leaves he might not be able to return. So we are kind of stuck and they can’t get married or baptized! It was a really hard thing for us this week because they are such an awesome family but God knows their needs better than us and we are going to keep working so hard and hopefully a miracle will happen and he will be able to receive his papers!! I want this for them so much because I have see the change the gospel has brought into their lives. They are different people and I know that they will receive so much more when they are baptized and receive the holy ghost! And in one year they can go to the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity!! I want this for them but I also learned this week to have patience and to trust in God in all things! Patience is so hard but I know it is a celestial law! And I am defiantly developing patience because I realized I am not a very patient person but I am learning to become a better person!

I am excited to start a new month! And change the things that didn’t work in the last month! My companion and I have a lot of goals and this month will be the best month ever!!!!

So our 92 year old investigator is probably the cutest little old man. We have been teaching him and he is awesome!! He wants to be baptized this Saturday so we are working towards this date!! He is so alert he understands everything and he did come to church and it was the cutest thing ever. It made me want to cry. So we go to his house to pick him and his daughter up and the daughter said Dad lets go they are here! And when he came into the front room he was carrying a cane and he had a cute little white shirt on and he said out loud, lets Go with a big smile on his face! When we went to church it was so cute. During the santa cena as they gave him the bread and the water he would say thank you so loud to the men passing the sacrament! It was so cute!! He loved church. He only stayed the first hour but still he loved it and all the members were so nice to him and welcomed him!! It was so cute!!

Today for Pday we went to Christ! LOL! Here in Perez there is a big statue of Christ!! on the top of a mountain and today we went with our district and some members which was so fun!! It was a big hike up to him but we did it!! So here are some pictures of the statue!!

Well my most wonderful family I love you so so much!! Thanks for all your love and support that you give me!! I love you all! Thanks for loving this gospel and teaching your children to love the gospel because more than you know your children are watching your examples. I remember when I was little and going up to Mom and Dads room and seeing Mom on her knees praying to her Heavenly Father alone and I would sit there and watch her and that memory is so strong. I will always remember that memory of watching Mom and Dad hand in hand praying together to Heavenly Father for our family and blessing each one of their children! These memories have shaped who I am!! So thank you all for your examples to me! I hope that on day I can be an example to you all and to my own children by the way I love the Lord!

Love you always and forever!!
